The Ultimate Sport for the Mind™
FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC) is an exciting, team-based engineering challenge that empowers high school students to design, build, and program industrial-sized robots while developing the technical and professional skills needed for the future.
Each January, teams from around the world receive a brand-new game challenge and have a limited build season to design, prototype, manufacture, program, and test a robot capable of competing in that year’s game. Along the way, students gain hands-on experience in mechanical engineering, electrical systems, programming, CAD, project management, marketing, fundraising, business planning, and teamwork—all with the guidance of dedicated mentors from education and industry.
But FIRST® Robotics Competition is about more than robots. Teams build confidence, strengthen leadership skills, create lasting friendships, and become part of a global community that celebrates innovation, creativity, and Gracious Professionalism®.
Compete in FIRST® Mid-Atlantic
FIRST® Mid-Atlantic proudly serves teams throughout eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware as part of the FIRST® Robotics Competition District system. During the season, teams compete at district events to earn points toward qualifying for the FIRST® Mid-Atlantic District Championship and, ultimately, the FIRST® Championship.
Whether you’re starting a brand-new team, returning for another season, or looking to volunteer, mentor, or sponsor, FIRST® Mid-Atlantic is here to support your journey every step of the way.
Join the Community
FIRST® Robotics Competition provides students with an experience unlike any other—combining the excitement of sports with the rigor of engineering. Whether you’re interested in building robots, writing code, designing CAD models, creating media, managing projects, or leading outreach efforts, there’s a place for everyone on an FRC team.
We invite students, mentors, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters to join our growing community and help inspire the next generation of innovators and leaders.
